Monday December 17

It started as a rainy day in the islands...but by mid-morning the sun was out and it was another gorgeous day! Nothing like the islands in the middle of December doing Kingdom work! You need to get signed up for the next trip! More on that later!

I mentioned in my blog last night that our Christmas program schedule may have to be rescheduled due a death in the family of one of our newest village church host, Carlton. We spoke to Carlton earlier today and he said that we would have the Christmas Treat as scheduled on Tuesday. He said he had many children excited about this and he must not change the plans! (What a God we serve!) Pastor Suresh and I attended the funeral of Carlton's sister this afternoon. We really did not know much about her background, so when I asked Suresh what to expect, he said...we will have to wait and see! When the service started with Blessed Assurance, followed by How Great Is Our God and Amazing Grace, I knew that we were at a Celebration and not a funeral. Yes, there were tears, but the message was a salvation message! This woman was a godly, praying woman, and the celebration of her life expressed that! The pastor spoke a powerful message, saying we are all in the preparation stage of life, no matter what age we are. The question is, how will Christ find us when our time to die comes, or He returns to get us...Will my garments be adorned in white, washed by the blood of Christ, a bride ready for her bridegroom? The Spirit of God covered that entire village! (the funeral services are mostly held at the home, then to the cemetery, or the cremation site if a Hindu). What an AWESOME God we serve.

As you can see in the pictures above, we had a busy rest of the day. We got our puppet stage built thanks to the engineering skills of Samson and Tony, the two young men who are leading the ministry at the two newest locations. These guys have an incredible opportunity at the newest locations as there are many children in both areas. Please pray for these young men as they both have full-time jobs, but have a heart for children's ministry.

We closed the night by putting together 130 Christmas Treat bags for the kids at the two new locations. We will have the Christmas program at the two new locations on Tuesday and Thursday. We know already that there will be 50 + kids at Carlton's place tomorrow...we are also expecting a big group Thursday.

Please pray much for the Christmas programs at the two new places...most all these kids are Hindu or Muslim, and probably never heard the REAL Christmas program. Pray for seeds to be planted!

Until Tuesday night when I will share how God shows up at Carlton's Christmas Treat...good night from Trinidad, West Indies!

Christie and Mike
