Saturday 12/15/12

Today was a good start the work here this week. We had Sunday School this morning, yes, I know it is Saturday! But that is how we roll here in the islands mon! The kids spent time rehearsing for the Christmas program next Saturday. It is going to be great.

We had 5 kids come forward to accept Christ this morning! One of the kids is going home to a Hindu dad, mom and sister. He is a little scared! Pray for Kevin. He is a sharp young man and will do great things for the Father.

This afternoon we went to PriceMart (island version of Sam's and COSTCO) and a couple of other places to get treats for the 2 new village locations where we will have Christmas programs this week. A couple of times we lost Mrs Christie...and where did we find her...in the cooking section. She is going to try and westernize the Trinidadians...she did make her famous chocolate chip cookies when we got home! Pretty good. She also bought a brownie mix box the looks like it will feed half the island...this is a huge box. We will see how that goes. She had her first Roti cooking lesson tonight...she did good...the next time she has to make it all by herself. Can anyone guess what she looked for as the first piece of Roti came off the tower...RIGHT...butter and jelly! Tuesday Night Bible Study group get ready for Roti at our next meal!

Everybody is pretty wiped out and in bed...tomorrow is our first Christmas program at one of our locations. It will probably be the first time the kids have heard the Christmas story...I am praying as I share The Two Greatest Gifts Of Christmas that they will understand what it all means!

The first picture above is the premier of one of our newest members of the ministry team...NO, it is not the Trinidadian...it Ralph. He is making his debut tomorrow at the Christmas program. he says, Hi Ya'll, and Merry Christmas! Oh, the other fellow is Samson, one of our ministry leaders!

The second picture...well, who would believe that I would find a t-shirt from a car dealership from my hometown...in of all places...TRINIDAD! Well, I have to take the picture.

Until tomorrow...good night from the islands!

Christie and Mike
